I call More Like Jesus a “Story Study”.

Story Study is Scripture engagement through immersive narrative that trusts the story—rather than extracted principles and tips for living—to change our hearts, lives, and communities.

It’s a kind of Bible study that emphasizes the story of Jesus. If you’ve done more traditional Bible studies before, it’s designed to be a little different than maybe what you’ve done in the past. If you’re new to Bible studies, then welcome!

As you get started with Season 1 of More Like Jesus, here’s how to make the most of the journey.

Three Ways to Read

Daily Rhythm

Read new entries as I post them, three times a week. Look for a regular time to read them in the morning, afternoon, evening. Try the “Live It” invitation when it fits naturally into your day. This pace mirrors how the disciples experienced Jesus—in daily life, one moment at a time, with space to breathe and reflect.

Weekly with a Group

Read an entire week’s entries on your own, then gather with others to share what you’re experiencing. If you grew up in church you may know the joke that if you didn’t know the correct Sunday School answer, just say “Jesus.” With More Like Jesus, there’s no such homework pressure, but just honest conversation about what you’re discovering. The Leader Guide provides sample discussion flows if you want structure.

Seasonal Binge

Some stories beg to be experienced in one sitting. If that’s you, and you’re coming to this as the entries gather, read an entire scene or even a whole season over a weekend or a week. Let the story build momentum. Note though, if you binge, consider re-reading slowly later. The second pass often reveals what the first missed.

In any case, let the story meet you where you are.
