How to Use More Like Jesus
The Way to Begin Again | How to Use
Each story in the upcoming season explores one of the lies we carry about God, about life, and about ourselves—using Scripture, reflection, and prayer to help you discover what it means to follow Jesus.
You don’t need to bring expertise or have your questions figured out. You just need to show up. I’ll post three times a week—Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Here are a few recommendations for what to do:
Go slow. These aren’t articles to skim or devotionals to check off. They’re designed to be read at the pace of someone with questions they don’t yet know how to ask. Read the whole entry. Sit with it. Notice what stirs.
Trust the story. Each entry follows the same rhythm: Scripture, immersive reflection, a parallel story from life, and a short closing note. Sometimes I’ll flip the order. Sometimes there’s only one story. The structure is simple because transformation isn’t complicated—it’s just slow.
Pray small. At the end of each entry, there’s a prayer. It’s short. If it doesn’t fit your day, write your own. The point isn’t eloquence; it’s presence.
Try one thing. Each entry ends with “Live It”—a small, concrete invitation to move toward Jesus in your actual life. I added a few questions to help spur thoughts. They aren’t homework, but just a way to practice what you’re learning. Some days you’ll do it. Some days you won’t. That’s okay.
Work with others, or work alone. This study works in groups or by yourself. If you’re in a group, the stories create natural conversation. If you’re alone, the rhythm still holds. Either way, you’re not performing for anyone.
This isn't therapy, though you may find therapeutic moments. It’s also not theology, per se, though it’s informed by theology and good theology does help us live more whole, grounded lives.
It's an invitation to be in Jesus' presence—to become more like Him by walking the same road His first followers walked.
One more thing: You’ll notice I don’t always explain everything. That’s intentional. I’m not trying to give you all the answers. I’m trying to help you experience the story the way the first disciples did—confused, curious, and close enough to see what happens next.
Ready? Story 1 begins Tuesday.
